American Sustainable Business Council and Social Venture Circle Spring Conference: Breakout Session: April 21, 2021: Restorative Investing for Racial Justice: Learning more about the Tanka Bar Investment with Aner Ben-Ami (Candide Group), Dawn Sherman (Tanka Bar), Laina Greene (Angels of Impact); Jeff Cyr (Raven Capital Partners).
The System is not broken, it is fixed and designed t benefit the few at the expense of marginalized communities. We need a new approach to financing for a truly just and regenerative NEXT economy. Restorative Economics attributed to Nwamaka Agbo and Alfa Demmellash, calls on us to work closely with those marginalized communities as key agents of systems change and reexamine not just we invest into but how we invest into these communities. To help those keen to invest in racial equity, this session will use the Tanka Investment deal to learn more about restorative investing. This session is jointly organized by the Restorative Investing Task Force under the Community Capital Working Group and JEDI Collaborative Investor Task Force.
